Cancelling a gym membership in Florida

I recently relocated 40+ miles from my gym and was wondering if there was any way I could cancel the membership on the basis of distance. I tried discussing this with the gym staff and there’s no one ever there with the authority to discuss cancellations – needless to say I’m a bit frustrated
