My ex husband, and father of my two minor children, just died. He was $200,000.00 in arrears on his child support. I don’t have any knowledge of whether he had any bank accounts, assets, or life insurance.
My ex-husband filed bankruptcy and named me as a creditor.
I owe past due child support but am now the custodial parent of my child. Will the courts allow the non-custodial parent to with hold any current child support payments due until the past due has been paid? or will they deduct a certain amount monthly from the current support to pay towards the past due?
I am pregnant and if the father does not sign the birth certificate and I do not put the child’s last name as his. what are his rights? What if he has a record with the law and has been in a mental insitution and is not very stabble
if the biological mother owes 36000.00 in back support….mom and dad have 3 kids together…mom has just recently gotten custody of the oldest 2 which are now 15yrs old…she has only had them for 2yrs…the other child is with mom’s aunt…dad owes aunt 7500.00 in back support…why hasn’t mom gone to jail, but dad has twice…and had to pay a purge amount of 1500.00 to the aunt…aunt is ref to give custody to either parent…what can be done? Can dad sign over his rights?
