I have a client whose house burned down a year ago and she filed it on her insurance and her insurance gave her a number of a contractor who could come out and fix her house. The contractor came out and they made a written agreement and he started on her house but now has yet to finish. Her house is undone and in shambles and she has payed the contractor all of the money and she has yet to hear from him and its been a month.

Hi my I’m 19 years old and the owner of the house me and my dad work offered me a job under the table well when i started working he gave me cell phone and when he gave me the cell phone he told me it was a gift from him to me and he bought my dad a new refrigerator also which he said it was a gift for me also. Well i guess he thought that i was gonna have something with him like a relationship more than friends and i send him a text saying i just wanted it to be business between us well i went on vacation and he told me that it was ok that to call him when i came back well now when i came back i went out one night and the cell phone he gave me was stolen from me and he is saying that he wants it back because I’m not gonna work for him anymore that since i lost it hes gonna kick my dad out the house but my dad pays hes rent but i believe that since it was a gift i don’t need to pay him back for it and that he cant kick out my dad hes house just for that but can he kick him out?

What is the law in North Carolina if You are at home asleep and wake to someone in your house,can I protect myself to the extent of killing the person who is in my home. What are my options in this situation. Thank you
