My mother recently underwent a gastric bypass surgery.

I live in New York City and I would like to know will the judge grant me custody of my two sons who are 8 years old if the mother has no job, living in the projects in her mothers home,might be on public assistance while I have a job that pays 17dollars an hour,I live in a coop apartment? My work schedule is 3PM to 12p.m.
