3 years ago I required brain surgery and spent 3 months in hospital. During that time I was in contact with my apartment manager and explained the situation and that I would be arranging for a friend of mine to make a payment toward the back rent that was owed and that I would be returning home to finish my recovery as well as taking care of any outstanding rent owed. He was completely understanding and had assured me that there would be no problem.

I live in a 3b/3b Townhome with 2 roommates in West Texas. Both are good friends, but one of them is having a tough time getting his bills and rent paid on time due to losing his job a few months ago and it took awhile to find a new job. The Townhome that we are renting has a clause in the contract that says if you are 10 days late on rent they can come into your home and take some of your stuff to place a lien on it until you get them paid! My roommate that is having the trouble doesn’t have anything of hardly any value, but I do! The landlord has now came into our home twice in the last few months and taken some of my stuff to hold until my roommate gets his rent paid.
